However as Gareth gets home, he is then confronted by his racist uncle Mickey, who does not believe that his nephew can make true friends outside of his race. Frustrated and disappointed, Gareth leaves the house to meet his friends amongst who is his love interest: Sandra, a beautiful black woman who has been Gareth’s closest friend for a while. As the two are getting closer together, they are being interrupted by two racists who verbally abuse the couple. Surprisingly, the person coming to the rescue is… uncle Mickey. Does seeing the treatment his nephew and his friend received change his attitude? Where does that leave Gareth?

Coming out is hard for anyone and not everyone does. Some lead a double life and have secret meetings whenever they can. While the story is fictional, it is based on my own experiences and encounters over the years and will hopefully be relatable to other gay men who have had similar encounters.
